FCA Is Hosting a Design Contest for Future Ram Trucks

You Could Design the Next Ram Pickup Truck

Though not appreciated by everyone, vehicle design is an art form all its own. Unfortunately, these designs aren’t always appreciated when they first come out, and are only first praised to any great extent once the car becomes a classic or antique.

The more practical nature of vehicles in modern times has something to do with this, as the world and artistic styles of cars from the 1950s certainly weren’t emphasizing the utility of the vehicle. Still, when a particularly stylish or appealing vehicle comes out, it certainly stands out from some of the cookie-cutter models we see on the road today.

How to Design a Car

If you’ve ever had an interest in designing a vehicle, now may just be your chance. The FCA design team is looking to elevate the appearance of the Ram truck for the future, and they are looking for help.

It’s called Drive for Design, and it is a challenge to high school students to sketch out a design for future Ram vehicles. Those who are in grade 10 through 12 are eligible, as long as they are high school students within the U.S. Not everyone can win, but a total of three winners will be selected, so as long as you are in that top three group you have a shot.

Winning entries will receive some pretty incredible prizes. These includes a tour of the FCA Design studio, a scholarship to the College for Creative Studies Summer Experience Transportation Design program and a position as a judge at the EyesOn Design Car Show.

If you’d like to participate, you will want to submit your entries at www.FCAdriveForDesign.com by May 1, 2020. If you have further questions, you can attend an AMA on Facebook Live on Feb. 26 at 6 pm Eastern.
