2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel MPG and Engine Specs
The Wrangler is well known for its capability and ruggedness, but now, efficiency may also be a quality on people’s mind when they think of this iconic SUV. That’s because the 2020 Jeep Wrangler is available with an EcoDiesel engine, delivering impressive MPGs and performance.
The new engine is a V6 and is available on four-door variations of the model. The power plant delivers an impressive 260 horsepower, but that isn’t even the most amazing part of it. It also pumps out an incredible 442 lb-ft of torque. More torque generally means a more thrilling driving experience, especially paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that has over 40 shift points to optimize the drive for various performance needs.
Wrangler EcoDiesel Fuel Economy
Of course, power is only one part of the equation. Another benefit of a diesel engine is the improved fuel economy, especially in a power plant like the Wrangler’s EcoDiesel. The problem is, we are still waiting for official fuel economy figures for the Wrangler EcoDiesel.
We can make an educated guess, however, considering the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel is placed next in-line following the 2.0-liter Turbo in the lineup. That engine offers up to 21 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, so we can expect the engine to have better fuel economy than the 2.0-liter Turbo. Most likely, it will be somewhere just under 30 mpg highway, but we will wait to see before we make any promises.
Many Wrangler fans have been waiting to see an engine like this EcoDiesel arrive to the Jeep Wrangler lineup, and now, it finally has for the 2020 model year. We look forward to offering you test drives down the road here at Jim Cogdill.
